“Healing Rhythms" is a four-part series marking Black History Month and the rich cultural diversity of Toronto.
Across the series, you will be introduced to several teachers and musicians — including the Moneka family — who share their rhythms and songs that celebrate family and community.
In the last episode of the series, enjoy songs from the fourth mood, Simba, and learn about the different Sufi traditions and rituals that are practiced and performed in Iraq — specifically in Basra. Gain insight into the diverse faiths that have lived in Iraq, and the harmonious ways in which they interconnected as a society for hundreds of years, through generations.
